Bless the Mess was born from a shared passion for fashion and style, between two best friends. Their travels around the world and encounters with diverse people have enriched their nomadic lives, and it is as a result of these experiences that they have decided to collaborate. This synthesis of spirits has created a collection of jackets for the chic urban femme, a free spirit who appreciates details and ethnic adornment. Bless the Mess is colorful contradictions. A brand that generates inspiration from worldly authentic encounters amalgamated with a sense of freedom.
What began as a small shared dream has developed into a real studio in the city of Barcelona. “We want to create a clothing brand that is reflective of our passion so that we can share our fashion perspective with likeminded women.”
Andrea Ruiz has been involved in several collaborative projects, this is her third, and as they say, it is a charm. From childhood, she was enamoured by the idea of making outfits and playing with clothes. In her professional life, she has worked as a fashion illustrator for several international firms. Andrea emphasizes the significance of details, which make functional pieces special.
Elisabeth Mas has worked as a model around the world, along with her sister Clara. Her globe trotting journies have provided her with inspiration from a diverse array of cities around the cosmos, both famed and remote. These travels are docuemented on her blog for Elle magazine, where adventures, outfits and tastes collide. Elisabeth does not like to go unnoticed, her style juxtaposes bold with chameleon. She is not afraid of mixing and would rather create trends than follow them.
A duo made in the stars, their zodiac signs, Capricorn (Andrea) and Leo (Elisabeth), influse perseverance with creativity and safety with extroversion, a real galactic mess. The fusion of ordered chaos was developed when these two soul sisters decided to embrace their strengths, in other words, bless their mess. They have bred a collection of blazers for women whose passport has the stamp of unique ‘gypset’ style, where gypsie meets jet-set.
Life is not neat, nature is not tidy, reality can be pandamonium, Andrea and Eli, don’t fight it, instead their ethos promotes going with the flow, appreciating the aesthetic that grows from dynamic combinations.
“Bless the Mess is our philosophy about embracing the chaos that exists in life, it is this organic ‘mess’ which sets us apart from the masses.”
